BETHANY BEACH

Description: Known as the quiet resort, this town is quaint and offers plenty for the whole family to do. Offering plenty of PG-rated fun such as mini golf, arcades and bike riding, it's a great place to bring the kids. The downtown area offers a boardwalk, complete with concerts on the bandstand. There's also a public basketball and volleyball court and playground.

Parking: On-street parking for $1.50 an hour from May 15 until Sept. 15.

Lodging: Bethany has a plethora of beach house rentals. There are also campgrounds, condos, a hotel, motel and bed and breakfast inns.

Shopping: A good mix of beach souvenirs shops, boutiques for the whole family and plenty of sweet shops.

Attractions/Recreation: There's a classic trolley that offers inexpensive ways to get in and out of town, mini golf, tennis clubs, boating and boardwalk live entertainment.

Nightlife: Bethany has a pretty quiet nightlife scene, although there are a handful of bars within the town.

Restaurants: Several dining options for families, along with a few fine dining spots and great date night ideas. Choose from barbecue, fresh seafood, Caribbean, Mexican or pizza and subs.
