FENWICK ISLAND
Description: Just north of the Maryland state line, Fenwick Island is located on a narrow peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and Little Assawoman Bay. The town is home to a historical lighthouse and a fair amount of beachfront properties. There's no boardwalk facing the ocean, although locals refer to the boardwalk at Viking Golf Amusements as the spot where families can find entertainment, snacks and an arcade.
Parking: Parking permits are required for all streets from May 15 until Sept. 15. They are available for purchase at Town Hall.
Lodging: You’ll find lots of rental homes in the area, many beachfront, and there are also hotels and motels to choose from.
Shopping: A variety of shops, from books, clothes, wedding gowns, candy shops, sea shells and home décor, all within a close proximity of each other.
Attractions/Recreation: There's plenty for the families to do in this town. Look for water parks, mini golf, go carts, and a variety of water sports, including a kid's pirate ship ride.
Nightlife: A handful of options are spread out from one another. Many offer live entertainment in the summer.
Restaurants: A wide mixture, including comfort food served by the same family for 50 years, wood grilled pizza, seafood and several local spots.
