There’s one last Dewey Beach party weekend left and the highs should be in the low 60s instead of the suffocating summer streak of temperatures in the 90s.

Both The Starboard (2009 Del. 1) and The Rusty Rudder (113 Dickinson St.) will host end-of-season closing parties this weekend with a final run of bands and booze before re-opening for New Year’s Eve.

At The Starboard, LauraLee and TrippFabulous will perform Friday night with the 19th Street Band on stage Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.

But the real draw is the debut of The Starboard’s 2017 VIP cards and discounts on draft craft beers since the kegs need to be emptied. Expect t-shirt giveaways, a slew of Orange Crushes and plenty of high jinks, as always.

A few blocks away along Rehoboth Bay, the Rudder will lead with The Jump Off on Friday night with The Loop playing the official closing party Saturday night.

And don’t forget that if you’re in town on Saturday, Jimmy’s Grill (19724 Del. 1) will be serving up free chicken from 1 to 4 p.m. to help close the season with Love Seed Mama Jump’s Rick Arzt kicking out the jams starting at 2 p.m.
