By this time Friday, the wait for Firefly Music Festival's lineup will be replaced by a new countdown clock – one that ticks down to June 15, the opening day of the sixth annual Dover festival.

The long-awaited announcement will land at 10 a.m. Friday. (If your son or daughter seems on edge, this might be the reason why.) Check delawareonline.com at that time for full coverage.

Four-day passes will go on sale three hours later at 1 p.m. via fireflyfestival.com.

General admission wristbands are $289 – $10 more than last year. VIP passes cost $699, and Super VIP passes, which include access to artist lounges, on-stage viewing areas and an open bar, cost $2,499. Both are the same cost as 2016.

So far, seven of the 100-plus acts have been officially announced by Firefly organizers.

Rapper Busta Rhymes, who can be heard reuniting with A Tribe Called Quest on the group's stand-out November release "We Got It From Here... Thank You 4 Your Service," was announced in December along with New York electro rock duo Phantogram. It's a return engagement for Phantogram, which rocked the Woodlands grooving in 2014.

Last weekend, Firefly had scavenger hunts in five cities (Dover, Wilmington, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.), sending fans scrambling to find a pair of free VIP passes in each town, along with a postcard with the name of a 2017 act.

The revealed acts included Los Angeles pop duo Capital Cities, Swedish electronic DJ dance duo Galantis, Philadelphia rapper/comedian Lil Dicky, English indie rockers Glass Animals and New York indie popsters MisterWives. Capital Cities, Glass Animals and MisterWives have all played Firefly in the past.

The festival is expected to once again draw 90,000 music fans from around the world.
