Here's where to go to show off your costume, and when to keep the lights on for the kiddos.

 

Trick-or-Treat times

Delmar: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., for children younger than 12.

Dewey Beach: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.

Dover: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.

Frankford: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.

Georgetown: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., for children ages 12 and younger.

Laurel: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., for children ages 12 and younger.

Lewes: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., for children ages 13 and younger.

Middletown: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.

Milford: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., for children ages 12 and younger.

Millsboro: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., for children ages 12 and younger.

Milton: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., for children ages 12 and younger.

Newark: No designated time 

New Castle: No designated time

Rehoboth Beach: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., for children ages 14 and younger

Selbyville: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., for children ages 12 and younger

Smyrna: Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m. for children 12 and younger. At the same time, Smyrna Police Department and local businesses host Trick-or-Treat Safe Zone on Market Street Plaza and South Street side of John Bassett Moore Intermediate School, with trick-or-treating, DJ, bounce house and activities. For children 1-12 with parent or guardian.

Wilmington: No designated time city-wide; typically kicks off at dusk

Halloween — Tuesday

Halloween Parade 6 p.m. (lineup at 5:45 p.m. in Town Hall parking lot), Delaware City. Parade moves up Clinton Street, ending at Crabby Dick's.

Haunted Library 6-8 p.m. Selbyville Public Library, Main and McCabe streets, Selbyville. Screaming replaces shushing in this 15th annual event.

“The Hunchback of Notre Dame” 6 p.m. All Saints’ Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Silent movie with improvised organ accompaniment. Free. 302-227-7202.

Nightmare’s Haunted House 7 p.m. 10912 County Seat Road, Laurel. $13 or $11 with a canned good. 

Slaughter House Farm 32076 Gordy Road, Laurel. Friendly monsters for free trick or treating.

Trick-or-Treat at Woodburn 5-8 p.m. Woodburn: The Governor’s Residence, 151 Kings Highway S.W., Dover. Gov. John Carney and Tracey Carney will be handing out candy. 302-739-5656.

Trunk or Treat 6-8 p.m. First Choice Services, 33334 Main St., Dagsboro. Costumes encouraged. Includes decorated cars, bounce house, hot chocolate bar and candy.

Thursday

Dia de los Muertos Luminaria Labyrinth Walk 6-7 p.m. Delaware Art Museum, 2301 Kentmere Parkway. Wilmington. Donation. Day of the dead walk, lit by tea lights.

Friday, Nov. 3

Day of the Dead 3-9 p.m. Liquid Alchemy Beverages, 28 Brookside Drive, Wilmington. Mexican-inspired decorations, foods, music and face-painting. Day-of-the-dead attire encouraged. Also Nov. 4.

Frightland 6 p.m. 309 Port Penn Road, Middletown. $25-$40. 6 p.m. Also Saturday.

Saturday, Nov. 4

Day of the Dead Noon-9 p.m. Liquid Alchemy Beverages, 28 Brookside Drive, Wilmington.
