Fox's Pizza Den is coming to Berlin.

The Pennsylvania-based pizzeria franchise is slated to open in the Worcester County town come mid-March. Co-owners Alex Laicans and Alex Buinovskis, who are both active in the two nearby Delaware locations, are now bringing the franchise to Maryland's Eastern Shore.

"Everybody's been begging us to open up a new location," Laicans said.

The restaurant will be located at 11328 Samuel Bowen Blvd.

Started by Jim Fox in 1971, the Fox's Pizza Den chain began in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, and is now operating in 25 states with more than 200 franchises, according to the restaurant's website. The business was incorporated in 1974.

Fox's Pizza Den offers a variety of pizza, hoagies, salads, stromboli and "wedgie" sandwiches. Laicans said they focus on producing high quality dishes with fresh, local ingredients.

The restaurant's menu will include the staple items, but he said they're able to branch out and offer some items that differ from the classic Fox's Pizza Den menu.

Laicans said customers should expect a large bar, televisions and a large dining area when the restaurant opens in the spring.

Until the Berlin location opens, fans of Fox's Pizza Den will need to make the drive to Selbyville or Millville, Delaware for the closest shop to Maryland's Eastern Shore.
