Four Dewey Beach bars will team together for the town’s first Dewey Claus Crawl on Saturday.

A Christmas in July theme may not be new, but the Dewey Claus Crawl is.

There will be five Christmas parties at four participating Dewey Beach bars on Saturday, starting at noon at Jimmy’s Grille and ending with twin 9 p.m. bashes at The Rusty Rudder and northbeach.

The first party at Jimmy’s will feature “Ralphie’s Roller Rink” — an open-air roller rink installed in the bar’s parking lot, named after the lead character of 1983’s “A Christmas Story.”

In fact, the rink will be open all weekend, starting Friday. While the bar crawl is free, skating is not. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Roller skate rentals are included in the price.

The second party is a 2 p.m. “Naughty-n-Nice Pool Party” at northbeach followed by a special “Jingle Jam” at the Bottle & Cork at 5 p.m. with performances by Laura Lea & Tripp Fabulous, Split Decision, The Jump Off and JJ Rupp.

Pick up a “naughty list” at a participating bar and get it stamped at each venue. If you make it to all five by last call, you’ll be entered to win prizes at the 1 a.m. drawing.

No word yet on whether the prize package includes ibuprofen or a warm compress.
