"The Lion King" was the most popular Disney classic in the country.

Last Friday's release of "Christopher Robin" has unleashed a wave of nostalgia surrounding childhood favorites.

With the newest Disney property raking in the dollars at the box office, CableTV.com released a list of each state's favorite classic Disney movie.

As witnessed by our passion for scrapple and horseshoe crabs, Delaware isn't afraid to stray from the norm. Our taste in Disney movies is apparently no different.

Seventeen states chose "The Lion King" as their favorite Disney classic movie, which earned it top honors.

But Delaware was the only state to choose "Lady and the Tramp" as its favorite Disney classic.

We weren't the only ones to go rogue. California was the only state to choose "Aladdin," and the same went for New Mexico and "Alice in Wonderland," Idaho and "Sleeping Beauty," Arkansas and "Pocahontas," Hawaii and "Mulan," New York and "Dumbo," Vermont and "101 Dalmatians," Mississippi and "Fantasia" and Wyoming and "Hercules."

Utah, with the youngest population in the United States, had a 14-way tie for first.

And some movies — including hits like "Cinderella" and "The Jungle Book" — didn't win over any states.

The company determined the classics by cross-referencing each Disney movie from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" through the end of the Disney Renaissance period (1989 to 1999), using title familiarity, popularity and cultural relevance within Disney parks to choose the 25 movies for the list.

Scientific? Probably not. Because we find it hard to believe that "The Aristocats" was the favorite in four states but "Beauty and the Beast" was shunned.

But was it a fun conversation starter? Absolutely.
