Max Weinberg to close out Big Chill summer concert series

Rock legend Max Weinberg will close out the Summer Concert Series on Friday, Aug. 24, at 8 p.m. at the Big Chill Beach Club at Delaware Seashore State Park.

Weinberg, the E Street Band drummer, is a lot of things. Most know him as Bruce Springsteen’s legendary drummer for more than four decades. He’s also an author, an actor and the famous band leader of Max Weinberg and the Tonite Show Band.  

In 2014, Weinberg was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Springsteen’s E Street Band.  

And he hasn’t slowed down, especially now with his own new touring concept, “Max Weinberg’s Jukebox”— offering classic rock entertainment designed for smaller, intimate venues. 

“Look, I’ll be 66 next month, and it’s nice to say I’m still figuring out ways to play this great canon of material in a different fashion,” Weinberg recently said in Rolling Stone magazine. 

For Big Chill Beach Club, his “Jukebox” fits the bill.

“Our Big Chill Beach Club venue couldn’t be more perfect,” said Jason Bradley, Big Chill general manager.

The restaurant, which opened last year, has views of the ocean, Indian River Inlet Bridge and the bay.

The concert series has brought The Wheeland Brothers (beach rock), Eric Paslay (country) and Pepper (reggae) to the Bethany venue.

Tickets are $37 for general admission and $152 for a VIP meet and greet package. They are available online at bigchillbeachclub.com/events and at Big Chill Beach Club.
