Get a taste of Ocean City living with annual home tour
Ten Ocean City are homes will open their doors to neighbors and visitors for the 14th Annual Sand Castle Home Tour.
For more than a decade, the Art League of Ocean City arranges the self-guided tour featuring local homes as a fundraiser to sustain the Center of the Arts.
With the ticket price of $30 for each person guests can enjoy touring a variety of homes both Thursday and Friday, Sept. 20-21, while knowing they are supporting the creative arts in the community.
Rina Thaler, the executive director for the Art League of Ocean City, describes this year’s two-day long Sand Castle Home Tour as “unique.”
“We have everything from a cottage that is on the historic register to brand new really large residence that was just built, a family house, the bachelor pad, all different types of residences,” she said.

Each day the homeowners open the doors to their houses at 9:30 a.m. and are open to ticket holders until 4 p.m. A raffle will take place as well where guests can win free trips to restaurants.
Thaler wants people who buy a ticket to the 14th Annual Sand Castle Home Tour to know they are supporting a good cause.

“In addition to being a sustaining fundraiser for the Art League, it shows to the many people moving here to the area and are looking to retire down here, it highlights to them the different places that they could live and the lifestyle down here,” she said.
People can choose their own pace and plan their own tour of each of the 10 homes. Tickets can be purchased via the Art League of Ocean City website.
“The homes that open their doors are always so gracious and community minded people who want to do it because they know it is for a good cause. We always say, it is 10 great homes over two days for one great cause,” said Thaler.
