Flyers' mascot Gritty has already inspired this impressive Halloween costume

When the Flyers unveiled their new mascot, Gritty, it caused an uproar, with many calling the orange, furry creature with googly eyes horrifying.

Not one 7-year-old named Cailin from northeast Philadelphia, who wants to play for the Flyers when she grows up. Cailin has loved Gritty since his first appearance, her mother, Pattirriccia Ryan said, and Cailin had a request: She wanted a Gritty Halloween costume.

Luckily for Cailin, her mother has been making Halloween costumes for her kids since they were little. If they ask for a costume, and she is capable of making it and has time, she’ll do it, Ryan said.

She was definitely capable of turning out a Gritty costume, producing an impressive miniature version in only a few days.

Media outlets have taken notice of the adorable mini-mascot, and Ryan said Cailin is loving the spotlight.
