Hayrides, festivals and haunted houses. It's all happening this weekend, just in time for sweater weather.

Here are some of your options:

FESTIVALS

APPLE SCRAPPLE / Friday, Oct. 12-Saturday, Oct. 13 / Bridgeville

We challenge you to find another festival in which politicians fling breakfast meat, plus there's a carnival, a skillet toss, a pageant and a car show.

We'll wait.

Yes, it's time again for Bridgeville's main event, the Apple-Scrapple Festival.

The festival starts at 4 p.m. Friday, with the food court, entertainment stage, carnival, dance with Kathie and the Hot Rods and more.

Saturday starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 10:30 p.m., and includes everything from the mayoral scrapple sling to live music to crafters, a carnival and a lot of apples. And scrapple.

Streets in downtown Bridgeville will be open for parking on Friday, but Saturday parking will be in two fields on Main Street.

The annual skillet toss returns this weekend during Bridgeville's Apple-Scrapple Festival.

PUP-TOBERFEST / Saturday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. / Milford Crossroads

Delaware Pet Rescue's annual Pup-toberfest is for families and their very good doggos.

The 1-mile dog walk starts at 11 a.m. at Paper Mill Park (Route 72 and Polly Drummond Road). Registration for the walk is $20-$25.

But the rest of the day's events are free, so if you want to hang with other dog lovers and do some kids crafts, or play dog games and enter your pooch in a Halloween costume contest, feel free.

For more information, visit www.delawarepuppyrescue.org.

Hang with your favorite dogs at Pup-toberfest at Paper Mill Park on Saturday.

DELAWARE BEER, WINE & SPIRITS FESTIVAL / Saturday, Oct. 13, 12:30-4 p.m.

So. Many. Drinks.

The abundance of Delaware drinkmakers will be on full display Saturday when they get together for the Delaware Beer, Wine and Spirits Festival in Dover. The festival runs from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village (866 N. DuPont Highway, Dover).

This year’s event includes drinks (obviously), but also a mechanical bull, games, live music, food trucks, demonstrations and more.

Back to the beer. There are a lot of Delaware brews on tap and some from the region, too, including 2SP, 3rd Wave, Big Oyster, Blue Earl, Crooked Hammock, Dogfish Head, Evil Genius, Evolution, Flying Dog, Flying Fish, Fordham & Dominion, Heavy Seas, Midnight Oil, Mispillion River, Neshaminy Creek, RAR, Revelation, Stitch House, Stoudts, Troegs, Twin Lakes, Victory, Weyerbacher and Yards. Wine drinkers will have their choice of Harvest Ridge and Nassau Valley, and a growing number of spirits makers will be represented, including Brandywine Branch Distillers, Dogfish Head, Painted Stave, Stateside Urbancraft Vodka, Beach Time Distilling and Bluebird Distilling.

Admission is $50 (unlimited tastings), $15 for designated drivers and kids 16 and older. Children younger than 16 are free.

The annual Delaware Beer, Wine and Spirits Festival will draw a large crowd to Dover Saturday afternoon.
