The annual Sea Witch Festival returns to Rehoboth Beach the weekend of Oct. 27-29.

Halloween isn't just one night of trick-or-treating anymore: It's an entire month of ghost walks, costume contests, 5K races, fundraisers, hot drinks and scary stories.

Whether you're a zombiefied Halloween celebrator, an "I don't do costumes. Just give me apple cider doughnuts" kind of person, or somewhere in between, there is something on the Delmarva Peninsula for you. 

Maryland

Ocean City

Ocean City Ghost Walk
What: Walk the old historic district of Ocean City as a storyteller recounts ghost stories of spirits who still linger in the old buildings and hotels. Participants will also hit the "Haunted Trifecta," a murder, suicide and accidental death that occurred at the same place.
Where: Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum, 813 S. Atlantic Ave.
When: Every Tuesday and Saturday leading up to Halloween. The walk starts at 7 p.m.
Cost: Adult tickets are $20 and kids age 8-12 get in for $15. Advanced registration is required. Book online or call 443-735-0771.

Ripley's Believe it or Not Ghost Tour
What: A haunted tour and interactive paranormal investigation with "authentic evidence of paranormal activity." Utilize EMF meters and laser tags to try to communicate with spirits.
Where: Ripley's Believe it or Not, 401 S. Atlantic Ave.
When: Every Friday and Saturday leading up to Halloween, and Nov. 2 and 3, at 8 p.m.
Cost: Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at Ripley's in Ocean City. For more information, call 410-289-5600.

Bikes & Boo's On The Boards
What: A ghoulish costume crawl that benefits Atlantic General Campaign For The Future. Trophies will be awarded for best-dressed costume, best team and best-decorated bike, with a party at the Bearded Clam following the event. 
Where: The event starts at the Ocean City Inlet.
When: Saturday, Oct. 27, from noon-6 p.m.

Salisbury

Paranormal Investigation of Poplar Hill
What: Join the Chesapeake Ghosts team and Delmarva Spirit Hunters for a paranormal investigation of Poplar Hill Mansion, the oldest home in Salisbury and where a medical doctor lived and performed operations on his patients, some of whom died there. 
Where: Poplar Hill Mansion, 117 Elizabeth St.
When: Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 8-9:30 p.m.

5th Annual Zombie-Infested 5K Dash
What: Enjoy a zombie-themed 5K race or one-mile zombie walk with an outdoor after-party featuring awards for top runners, a costume contest, DJ entertainment, games, and treats. All proceeds benefit the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, a social services organization.
Where: The race starts at Salisbury University right outside of Maggs Gym.
When: Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Cost: Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for Salisbury University faculty, $10 for students and walkers, and free for children 10 and under. Register online at www.unitedway4us.org/5k. 

Berlin

Berlin Ghost Walk
What: Two ghost tours through Berlin, the historic town with a legend of the "Walking Dead, the Elemental and the Healing Tree." The tour includes a nighttime stroll through a very old, dark graveyard. 
Where: The Atlantic Hotel, 2 S. Main St.
When: Tours are every Friday leading up to Halloween at 7 p.m. and on Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. Meet 15 minutes before at the hotel. A few tours are available in November as well.

Princess Anne

Halloween Block Party
What: A free event featuring crafts, games, food, trunk-or-treat and a DJ.
Where: Somerset County Library, 11767 Beechwood St.
When: Oct. 27 from 5-8 p.m.

Main Street Trick-or-Treat
What: Main Street Princess Anne businesses will offer trick-or-treating on Halloween. Where: Along Somerset Avenue, between Broad Street and Washington Street.
When: Oct. 31 from 4-5 p.m. Children should be accompanied by an adult. 

Princess Anne Halloween Fest
What: A free festival in downtown Princess Anne that will feature trunk-or-treat, a pirate treasure hunt, games, a hay maze, a bounce house, a DJ, pumpkin decorating and hot dogs. Anyone ages 10 and up can also take a free haunted walk through Princess Anne's historic jail.
Where: Manokin River Park, 11840 Somerset Ave.
When: Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m.

Ghost Walk
What: A Princess Anne Ghost Walk for adults who want to catch a glimpse of spirits.
Where: Meet at Teakle Mansion, 11736 Mansion St.
When: Oct. 31 at 8 p.m.

: A parade and costume contest for people, pets and ghouls that benefits Brandywine Valley SPCA Animal Shelter in Georgetown. 
Where: The town of Bethany Beach
When: Oct. 27. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the festival begins at 10 a.m.
Cost: A $5 donation per person.

Lewes

30th Annual Children's Fantasy Trail
What: Put on a costume and trick-or-treat your way through the Cape Henlopen State Park Fantasy Trail, which is lined with jack-o-lantern. Grab candy and toys from storybook characters.
Where: Cape Henlopen State Park, 15099 Cape Henlopen Drive. Meet at the Nature Center.
When: Oct. 26 and Oct. 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Oct. 28 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Cost: Tickets are $5 per person.

Boos, Brews & Booze
What: Taste local brews, listen to ghost stories and soak in the culture of Lewes on a historic tour.
Where: Four groups will begin the tour at different starting points: Burton Ingram House, Rabbit's Ferry House, Ellegood House, and Old Doctors Office. 
When: Oct. 27. Choose from two tours. The first begins at 7 p.m. and the second at 8:30 p.m.
Cost: Tickets are $60 and the event is intended for adults 21 and over only. To share the experience with your friends and family, select the same starting point (band color) as your party. Book online (required) at fareharbor.com.

11th Annual Halloween Trail Ride & Walk
What: Bring your horse or walking shoes to Redden State Forest for a daytime ride and stroll that benefits the Delaware Mustang and Burro Association. Costumes are optional but encouraged.
Where: Redden State Forest, 18074 Redden Forest Drive
When: Oct. 28 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Cost: The $25 ticket includes the ride/walk, a catered lunch, and prizes. Registrations open at 10 a.m.

Milton

Milton Zombie Fest
What: An all-day event with live music, food trucks, vendors, make-up stations, a beer tent, a kids zombie fest, and a nighttime zombie walk. The fest will benefit the Milton Theatre, Milton Historical Society, Milton Fire Department, and Casa San Francisco.
Where: Milton Theatre, 110 Union St.
When: Oct. 20 starting at noon, the zombie walk begins at 8 p.m.
Cost: Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at ticketfly.com. Kids 12 and under are free.

Chincoteague

3rd Annual Halloween Spook-tacular
What
: Come out for Chincoteague's annual Halloween party, trick-or-treating, site decoration contest, and Trail of Fears. Fall crafts, campsite decorating, costume contests and warm apple cider are all part of the fun. 
Where: Chincoteague Island KOA Resort, 6742 Maddox Boulevard.
When: Oct. 27. The event is open to the public and starts with a Halloween party at 1 p.m. and ends with the Trail of Fears from 7-9 p.m.
