Oddity Bar, 1984 Halloween shows turn original bands into tribute bands for one night

Halloween is coming early to Wilmington’s indie original music clubs.
But here’s the twist: they won’t be hosting their usual line-ups of original bands performing original music.
Instead, each will host local original acts that will transform into tribute acts, performing the songs of everyone from Pearl Jam and No Doubt to Jay Z and The Beach Boys.
The first Halloween show is at Oddity Bar (500 Greenhill Ave.) on Saturday -- their fifth annual Halloween bash.
MEGA with members of Mothman Properties play Pearl Jam, The Bomb Shelter Dropouts do The Beach Boys, Reverse Giraffe takes on Jay Z and Incubus, The Psychedelic Puppets do Gorillaz and The Memberberries will do the songs of The Cranberries.
The show kicks off at 9 p.m., costs $5 at the door and is 21 and older only. There will also be a costume contest, so come dressed to impress.
The second Halloween rock party is at 1984 (2511 W. Fourth St.) on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. It’s their annual Rawktoberfest event.
Here’s their line-up: No Doubt (members of Worth, Grace Vonderkuhn, Oh S--t), The Cure (members of MEGA, Sparkbird, The Cocks, Sarah Koon and Mothman Properties), The Damned (members of Gozer, Eyebawl, Worth), Pearl Jam (MEGA with members of Mothman Properties), The Flaming Lips (Pinwheel) and Gorillaz (The Psychedelic Puppets).
This one is also $5 at the door and 21 and older. Sorry, kiddos!
