What could possibly go wrong?

Wilmington ax-throwing company Battle Axe will take over Liquid Alchemy Beverages (28 Brookside Drive, near Elsmere) for the meadery’s Battle Axe Zombie Apocalypse party this weekend.

The ticketed party runs from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday.

If you drop $40 on a ticket (either at the door or at brownpapertickets.com), you get in the door, one round of ax-throwing and two drink tickets.

Axes fly at Liquid Alchemy Beverages near Wilmington. A Halloween-themed ax-throwing event will be held there Friday night.

"Hone your survival skills for the Zombie Apocalypse with our new ax throwing game!" organizers tease.

If you don't want to throw, no ticket is needed and you can stick to tastings.

Professional makeup artists will be on site to do your zombie look and a new mead called Zombie Blood will make its debut.

The Liquid Alchemy meads, most of which clock in with a powerful 12.5 percent ABV, seem to be gaining in popularity if Liquid Alchemy’s line at The Queen’s Local Brews Local Grooves festival last month is any indication.

The line snaked across Market Street after word spread about the tasty, fermented beverages with names such as O4 (orange blossom honey, tangerines, mandarin oranges and blood oranges ) and Black 302 (triple crown blackberries, blackcurrants and black raisins).

In all, Liquid Alchemy Beverages, or LAB as fans call it, has offered more than 20 different flavors since opening, as well as an array of ciders. Its First State Cider (9.3 percent ABV) is made with apples from Wyoming's Fifer Orchards and butter bean honey from southern Delaware.

In addition to their alcoholic beverages, owners Jeff Cheskin and Terri Sorantino have teamed up with Hockessin's Woodside Farm Creamery to create novelty items such as its chocolate chip, maple syrup and coffee mead ice cream dubbed Espresso Yourself and an orange mead sorbet. (The alcohol is still in there and you can certainly feel it.)

It's a busy week at the LAB.

On Halloween night, they will be hosting a Boo-B-Q Halloween party and a Day of the Dead bash on Nov.2.
