Delaware trick-or-treat times, parades and trunk-or-treats

We hope you've stocked up on candy because Halloween is creepin' up on us.

Here's when your town is trick-or-treating, plus where the kids can hit a trunk-or-treat with first responders, a costume parade or other community Halloween events.

Most towns suggest trick-or-treating from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, for ages 12 and younger. If you don't see your local community for trick-or-treating times, call the town hall or police department's non-emergency line.

COMMUNITY PARADES & TRUNK-OR-TREATS 

 

CLAYMONT: Halloween Spookebration, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Claymont Library (400 Lenape Way, Claymont). Trick-or-treating, crafts, free comics.

DELAWARE CITY: Parade at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, moves north on Clinton Street between City Hall and Battery Park. Costume judging throughout route.

DOVER: Public Safety Truck or Treat, 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Dover DMV, 303 Transportation Circle. For more information, call (302) 232-3459 or visit dsp.delaware.gov/community_outreach.

Eat in/Dine out: No scaredy-cats allowed at 'spooky brunch'

MILFORD: Fright Night spooky maze, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Milford Parks & Recreation Building (207 Franklin St., Milford). Suggested for ages 3 to 12, with snacks and/or candy. In case of inclement weather, call 302-422-1104 or visit Milford's Parks & Rec Facebook page. 

NEW CASTLE: Halloween parade at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, on Delaware Street (forms at St. Peter’s School parking lot, 5th and Harmony streets). Judging in front of New Castle Court House Museum.

SELBYVILLE: Halloween Library, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the library (11 Main and McCabe streets, Selbyville). Free. 

SMYRNA: Trunk-or-Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Market Street Plaza and John Bassett Moore Intermediate School. With churches, businesses and residents.

WYOMING: Halloween Festival, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Wyoming Train Station. With candy, hot dogs, pizza.
