Where to buy local for your 2017 Christmas shopping

When Terry and Vicki Ober opened Shipwrecked, they brought a unique combination of local arts, crafts, furniture, clothing and other gifts to one location.

Today, their Dagsboro center features more than 6,000 square feet of specialty vendors.

“We hear every day a happy customer who beams with delight that they found the perfect, one-of-a-kind or hard-to-find gift for someone who seems to already have everything,” Vicki Ober said.

Holiday shoppers can find a clothing and jewelry boutique; local artists; new and pre-loved home décor; a record shop; metal art; sea glass; custom-built furniture and signs; personalized gifts such as mugs, tumblers, metal art and signs; and other vintage, salvaged and repurposed items at Shipwrecked.

“We were the first to bring this concept to our original location in Grasonville, Maryland, and our store quickly became a huge hit,” Vicki Ober said.
