Hunt for Easter eggs at Salisbury University

DELMARVA NOW STAFF REPORT

If you're looking for Salisbury's big Easter egg hunt, head to Salisbury University on March 31.

Easter baskets prepared for children by volunteers sit on a table during a breakfast, featuring a visit by the Easter Bunny, at the Exmore Moose Lodge in Belle Haven, Virginia on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

The Salisbury Easter egg hunt traditionally held downtown will be hosted this year by the Salisbury University Honors College on the Holloway Hall lawn.

The egg hunt was first organized by the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District, and the Honors College hopes the move to campus will provide additional room to serve the 1,500-2,000 children and families the event has attracted in recent years.

This year’s hunt is scheduled 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Parking is available at SU’s Blackwell and Commons parking lots on Camden Avenue, Route 13 parking lots near Conway and Perdue halls and the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons, the Guerrieri Student Union lot on Dogwood Drive and parking garage on Wayne Street.

The event is open to children up to age 12. Check-in begins at 10:45 a.m., and the egg hunts will be separated by age group (birth-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12). A separate egg hunt will also be held for children with special needs.

The event includes games and activities provided by SU student organizations, as well as visits with the Easter Bunny, fire engine tours courtesy of the Salisbury Fire Department and about 40,000 candy-filled eggs.

Sponsored by the SU Student Government Association, Pedar B. Didriksen, D.D.S., Pohanka of Salisbury and Your Doc’s In, admission is free and the public is invited. To register or for more information, visit www.SBYegghunt.com.
