The Pines is a new restaurant in Rehoboth Beach that opens in December 2018.

The Pines, a modern coastal tavern in Rehoboth Beach, announced Friday it will open Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.

"To say we are excited to open our doors would be an understatement," owner Bob Suppies said. "It has been quite the journey, filled with hard work and dedication to getting it right. We wanted to ensure that every detail was complete before officially opening."

Stop by on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for a soft opening of lite fare and cocktails.

The Baltimore Avenue restaurant has two full bars, one in the main dining area and the other in an upstairs lounge dubbed "Top of the Pines." The lounge will open at 8 p.m. Fridays.

Expect crafty cocktails, hand-selected wine and craft beer, locally grown produce and creative American cuisine.

The main dining area will have a full farm-to-table menu (think sweet potato pretzel buns for the hand-ground burgers). Or grab some lite fair in the lounge.

The Pines also has an outdoor patio on the main level and an outdoor deck on the second floor off the lounge. According to a release, the 2,000 square-foot space is ideal for parties and special occasions.

If you participated in the restaurant's "Let's Make History" campaign, you may see your photograph of old Rehoboth inside as well.

"We are really looking forward to sharing our vision of The Pines with the Rehoboth Beach community, as well as, visitors to the town," owner Tyler Townsend said. "The ongoing support from locals and beyond has just been incredible and we are so very grateful for that. Opening our doors and delivering with stellar food and service will be our opportunity to say thank you."
