Here's where to get scared on Delmarva for Halloween

In for a fright this Halloween? Delmarva has no shortage of ghost tours and other haunted events.

Here's a look at some of the ones going on around the area:

Ripley's Believe It or Not

Ripley's Believe It or Not is having a ghost hunt at its Ocean City Boardwalk location.

"With over 500 exhibits from around the world sitting inside a building which is around 90-years old, paranormal activity has to be present," says Brandon Ely, Ripley's Believe It or Not Ocean City general manager in a release.

The event is set to begin at 7 p.m. on Oct. 21 and go until 9 p.m. The cost is $10.

Chesapeake Ghost Tours

Chesapeake Ghost Walks guide Mindie Burgoyne shows a photo of the Plinhimmon Hotel, now the Plim Plaza, after the structure burned down in the 1960s. Some employees of the restaurant believe angels roam the building.

There are plenty of ghoul tours on Delmarva, thanks in no small part to Chesapeake Ghost Tours.

The company offers tours in Princess Anne, Pocomoke, Berlin, Ocean City, Salisbury, Snow Hill and Crisfield.

The walk in Princess Anne is not open to children under 12.

Tours start at 7 p.m. and are $18 for adults and $12 for kids 8 to 12.

Tours will take participants past the supposedly haunted areas and do not go into properties.

Poplar Hill Mansion Halloween party

While not a ghost tour, the Poplar Hill Halloween party will allow participants to celebrate Halloween in a supposedly haunted house.

The party is set to take place on Oct. 27 beginning at 7 p.m.

Wear costumes, check out the decorations, enjoy sweet treats and punch, and take part in games, palm-reading, and story telling from Andy Nunez, paranormal expert and author of the Ghosts of the Eastern Shore Series.

Prizes will be awarded for best costumes and no RSVP is required. 

Suggested donation is $5 per person at the door.

Milton Zombie Fest

Milton's Zombie Fest runs from 6 p.m. on Oct. 19 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 21.

The event will feature the original works of the 7-Day Horror Trailer Challenge. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for general admission and the event begins at 6 p.m. on Oct. 19.

There will also be a full day of entertainment on Oct. 21, when the entire town of Milton is immersed in Zombie Fest.

Sea Witch Festival

The annual Sea Witch Festival returns to Rehoboth Beach the weekend of Oct. 27-29.

OK, so not that scary, but the 28th annual Sea Witch Festival in Rehoboth will be held from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29.

This festival features a broom tossing contest, sea witch hunt, costumed pet contest, haunted houses, hay rides, 5k race, trick or treating and more.

The festival takes over the entirety of downtown Rehoboth.

Screams at the Beach

Screams at the Beach features six events, zombie paintball and an escape room.

While there is no age requirement, organizers recommend not bringing children under the age of 12. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

According to the website, cast members are allowed to touch visitors, however, visitors cannot touch the cast members. Those who do will have their entire party escorted out of the event.

All ticket sales are final, and no refunds will be offered if someone does not go into the attractions.

Screams at the Beach is held every Friday and Saturday in October and is located at Sports at the Beach in Georgetown.

Tickets are $30 for general admission, which allows guests to visit all six Screams at the Beach attractions. For $40, guests can visit all six attractions plus either zombie paintball or the escape room. A $50 ticket unlocks the victim pass, allowing visitors to go to all six attractions and get fast pass entry at the gate and access to either the escape room or zombie paintball.
