Dewey Dunk rescheduled for late February

DELMARVA NOW. STAFF REPORT
The 3rd Annual Dewey Dunk was held on New Years Day at Dagsworthy Street and the Beach in Dewey Beach, with over 100 people plunging to welcome in 2015.

After frigid conditions postponed the New Year's Day event, the Dewey Business Partnership announced Monday that the Dewey Dunk will be rescheduled.

The partnership plans for the sixth annual dunk at noon Sunday, Feb. 25, the same weekend of the Dewey Winter Gala.

"We thought it would be the perfect time to get people in town to participate," Executive Director Kelly Ranieri said in an email.

Participants run into the ocean on Dagsworthy Avenue to support the Dewey Business Partnership, which sponsors family events throughout the year.

Dunkers may register the day of the event on the beach at Dagsworthy Aveune beginning at 11:30 a.m. The fee is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Registration fee includes Dewey Dunk gear, breakfast sandwiches and hot chocolate.

This is an all-ages event, rain or shine that includes free parking
