National country act Old Dominion will return to Hudson Fields in Milton at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23.

The summer season is slowly winding down, but there are still plenty of concerts taking place on the local music scene. One of the upcoming highlights is a major outdoor country show.

Old Dominion will play Hudson Fields in Milton at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 ($43, $63). Hudson Fields concerts are presented by Highway One Ltd., which owns various Dewey Beach nightspots. The band is in the midst of its Happy Endings World Tour, and the event is expected to draw several thousand fans. (A similar success story occurred last month when Hudson Fields presented country star Jake Owen.)

Old Dominion has seen its star continue to rise around the globe, and has come a long way since playing a free show for a very small crowd at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach back in 2014.

Speaking of Dewey, the Bottle & Cork nightclub has a number of shindigs in the offing. An '80s dance party with The Legwarmers is set for 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17 ($15). Country act Lanco will return Sunday, Aug. 19, following an 8:30 p.m. opening set by Willie Morrison ($20). Country singer Michael Ray will perform Wednesday, Aug. 22, after an 8:30 p.m. opener on Wednesday, Aug. 22 ($20).

Reggae vocalist Collie Buddz will return to Seacrets in Ocean City on Tuesday, Aug. 8. Tickets are $15.

The Freeman Stage at Bayside in Selbyville will follow last week’s successful turns by Cheap Trick and Vince Gill with more attractions. Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox will appear Saturday, Aug. 18 ($30 to $50). The unique group offers vaudeville and '50s doo-wop reboots of current Top-40 rap and pop hits. Reggae favorite SOJA — alias Soldiers of Jah’s Army — will return Sunday, Aug. 19 ($45 to $65). The Grammy-nominated touring act includes Seaford native Trevor Young on guitar. All shows begin at 7 p.m.

Reggae group SOJA (Soldiers Of Jah's Army) will play the Freeman Stage at Bayside in Selbyville at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19

Another reggae show, this one featuring vocalist Collie Buddz, will take place at Seacrets in Ocean City at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 ($15). Buddz is another national performer who performs on an annual basis and has a loyal local following.

Elsewhere in OC, the Cowboy Coast Saloon in Ocean City continues its Throwback Thursday Summer Concert Series with The Reagan Years at 9 p.m. Aug. 23. Country duo High Valley appears at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24. Tickets to bother are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
