Don't miss these big events in Ocean City, Rehoboth, Chincoteague

There is little reason to stay inside this weekend with the bounty of events, from beer-tinged festivals to a classic car show, happening along Delmarva. Here are just a few:

Delaware

Sidewalk Sale

What: The 42nd Annual Fall Sidewalk Sale offers bargain finds from various retailers in Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach and out to Route 1. And yes, parking is free.
When: Oct. 5-7 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach Resort Area.
Cost: Free, unless you plan to spend money, which is highly probable.

Dewey Goes Pink

What: Dewey Beach's 8th annual breast cancer fundraiser and 5K has donated more than $300,000 to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition since it began. Race or walk, and remember to wear pink
When: Oct. 6 at 11 a.m.
Where: The Starboard Restaurant, 2009 Coastal Highway, Dewey Beach.
Cost: Register online for $40, which includes a post-race party ticket.

Oktoberfest

What: Celebrate Oktoberfest with a specially-crafted Dogfish Head brew and Bavarian-inspired food, music and dancing under a Munich-style tent. The event is a fundraiser for the Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park and allows for the maintenance of the park and free community events throughout the year.
When: Oct. 6 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Lewes Canalfront Park, 211 Front St., Lewes.
Cost: Tickets for adults are $25 and kids 15 and younger gain free admission to the tent, but must be accompanied by a paying guardian. Food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase separately inside the tent. 

Lewes Fall Craft Fair

What: The Lewes Historical Society invites the public to celebrate the work of over 70 talented artisans and craftspeople, along with festive live music and food. Proceeds from this event will benefit educational and preservation programs at The Lewes Historical Society.
When: Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Second and Shipcarpenter streets in downtown Lewes.
Cost: Admission to the festival is $5 per person. Children under 12 are free. 

Maryland

Endless Summer Cruisin

What: The 21st annual car show will feature over 2,000 rods, customs, classics and trick trucks. Come for the cars, stay for the Boardwalk parade, live music, giveaways and vendor showroom. Click here for a full schedule of events.
When: Oct. 4-7.
Where: The main event takes place at the oceanfront Inlet Lot in Ocean City, though there are various satellite locations throughout the city, including the convention center. 

Virginia

Chincoteague Oyster Festival

What: The 46th annual opportunity for Virginia-bound seafood lovers to enjoy the fruits of the sea.
When: Oct. 6. Gates open at 10 a.m. and seafood is served from noon to 4 p.m.
Where: Tom's Cove Park, 8128 Beebe Road, Chincoteague
Cost: The $45 ticket gives you access to all things clam (on the half shell, steamed, single fried, fritters and as chowder), shrimp cocktail, a salad bar, boardwalk fries, hushpuppies, hot dogs, water and soft drinks. Beer may be purchased separately. Kids under five are free.
