Pantone makes baby hues hot again for 2016

In the words of Frank Costanza, serenity now.

No, really. Pantone waved goodbye to the color of 2015 (you remember the marsala craze, yes?), and made way for not one, but two baby hues.

Serenity (a baby blue)

Ralph Lauren is very pleased with this.

and Rose Quartz (a shell pink)

We once painted our New York apartment this color. It was called Splendor.

According to the AP, Pantone picked the two shades because "Rose Quartz is a warm and embracing gentle rose tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity reflects a mindset of inner peace."

While the rest of us have been busy decorating children's rooms in Serenity and Rose Quartz for the past few decades, designers have been making it cool again. As the AP notes, Chanel put the two together in its haute couture collection for fall 2015. Prada did the same for spring/summer, as did Fendi. Thom Browne put the color merge front and center for his 2016 resort collection for women, while Richard James and Roberto Cavalli used the two together for men on spring 2016 runways.

And now, this:
