DuPont Nature Center announces family-friendly programs

The DuPont Nature Center at Mispillion Harbor Reserve will host a variety of family-friendly programs in July.

 

  • Storybook Saturday, 11 a.m.-noon, July 8 – Stories about aquatic species and visitors to the Delaware Bay will be followed by activities geared to children ages 3 and older.

 

  • Family Fish-n-Fun Day, 1-3 p.m., Saturday, July 15 and 10 a.m.- noon, Sunday, July 23 – Through hands-on fishing activities geared to ages 6 and older, participants will learn about saltwater fishing, fish anatomy, knot tying and casting. The program meets at the Slaughter Beach Pavilion, located behind the fire hall at 359 Bay Avenue, Milford, DE 19963.

 

  • Fishy Fashions, 1-3 p.m., Saturday, July 22 – Ages 6 and older will learn the parts of a fish and design their own through a Gyotaku fish printing activity.

 

  • Ebb and Flow: What Brings the Tide In, 10-11 a.m., Saturday, July 29 – Have you ever wondered why the tide flows in and out? Learn about the tide, how it cycles, and why it’s important to the Delaware Bay in this presentation for adults.
