Delaware native George Thorogood returns to The Grand Oct. 12 for his fourth show since 2009.

All three of his previous shows — March 2009, September 2011, and March 2015 — at the downtown Wilmington opera house sold out. He also played the 2016 Delaware State Fair.

Single tickets to this one go on sale Aug. 1 and will range from $46 to $51, plus fees.

Earlier this year, Thorogood’s first solo album, 2017's "Party of One," landed in the Top 10 on Soundscan’s “Top Current Blues Albums” chart, becoming Thorogood's fastest-selling album in nearly 20 years.

"Well, I've been busy, Ryan, doing other things," Thorogood told The News Journal's Ryan Cormier last year. "It seemed that every other time that I went into the studio to make a record, we always had a couple of rock 'n' roll songs. So it went on the back burner."

George Thorogood and The Destroyers perform at The Grand Opera House in 2015.

During the last four decades, Thorogood and longtime band, The Destroyers (formerly the Delaware Destroyers) have sold more than 15 million albums, released 16 studio albums — including six gold and two platinum discs — and performed more than 8,000 live shows.

Their hits include: “Who Do You Love?,” “I Drink Alone,” “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer,” “Move It On Over,” “Get A Haircut,” and the anthemic “Bad To The Bone.”

The band includes Jeff Simon (drums, percussion), Bill Blough (bass guitar), Jim Suhler (rhythm guitar) and Buddy Leach (saxophone).

Tickets can be purchased Friday, July 27, at 10 a.m. only if they are bought as part of The Grand's create-your-own season's ticket package.
