For the first time, Gallery One of Ocean View will be holding an outdoor fine art show.

The exhibit will feature 23 local and visiting artists and artisans displaying works in a variety of mediums on Saturday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of Gallery One off Atlantic Avenue.

Nina Mickelsen, coordinator for the show, said the goal of holding an outdoor show was to introduce local and visiting artists to the community as the business tries to grow its brand.

“Having an outdoor show is a wonderful way to attract people who might not be aware of what artists are out there,” Mickelsen said. “And the show is a great opportunity to meet the artists, learn about their methods and hear what inspires them.”

By adding an outdoor event, Gallery One looks to follow the trend of outdoor shows in Rehoboth Beach, Ocean City and Bethany Beach. Ocean View and surrounding area residents will now have a way to connect with their local artists.

“We also wanted to find a way to introduce our Gallery artists to the larger Delmarva,” Mickelsen said.
