A second Matt's Fish Camp is set to open in Lewes early this summer.

The original Matt’s Fish Camp, one of SoDel Concepts’ existing eight restaurants, is located in north Bethany Beach. The new location will open in the Tenley Court shopping center on Route 1 in Lewes, said Scott Kammerer, SoDel Concepts' president.

“We’re so excited to be opening a new location," he said. "We love building restaurants that our guests enjoy, and at the same time, creating a great environment for people in our community to work."

Having two Matt Fish Camp locations will allow customers in the northern and southern beach areas to enjoy similar menus without having to travel far, he added.

At 3,200 square feet, the new restaurant will accommodate 90 people in the dining room, and will also feature a full service 12-seat-bar, as well as a freshly stocked raw bar.

The menu will feature fan favorites such as lobster deviled eggs, hot bacon crab dip, fresh catch options, buttermilk fried chicken with bacon corn gravy, colossal crab cakes and Matt's Fish Camp stew, as well as new selections.

"Matt’s Fish Camp is all about cooking simple, delicious and local seafood in a friendly restaurant where everyone feels welcome," Kammerer said. "We are a young, progressive company that looks for opportunities to expand and develop, and opening a second Matt’s Fish Camp in Lewes is an important step in that direction."

SoDel wine dinner honors Matt Haley

SoDel Concepts was founded by chef-restaurateur Matt Haley, the recipient of the James Beard Foundation’s 2014 Humanitarian of the Year Award. After Haley's death in August 2014, Kammerer became president and CEO of the group. This will be first new restaurant since Kammerer became head of SoDel.
