Eat in/Dine out: No scaredy-cats allowed at 'spooky brunch'

Halloween is all about going full-on ghoul and having a bloody good time.

EAT IN:

A monster meal or spooky snack can help maintain the night's necessary evil energy, but no one really wants to eat anything that looks gory.

To make a bandage wrapped "mummy," wrap a hot dog with strips of crescent rolls. Bake until lightly brown and serve.

We're big fans of mummy hot dogs. (Adults seem to like these goofy treats just as much as kids.)

Take a hot dog and make a slit at the bottom for the mummy’s legs. Then, make two slits along the sides of the dog for the mummy’s arms.

An enduring fall tradition, caramel apples return to Govatos Chocolates

Slice refrigerated crescent dinner rolls into thin strips so it looks like bandages. Wrap the slices around each hot dog. Bake at 375 degrees for 13-17 minutes or until the dough is light golden brown. The recipe for "walking mummy dogs" also can be found on Pillsbury.com

Halloween cookies made by the Hotel du Pont's pastry staff will be available in the Wilmington hotel's gift shop from Oct. 26 to Oct. 31. Each cookie is $3.50.
