If you're the type of person who puts a Christmas tree up in November, then it's probably never too early for eggnog.

Lewes Dairy eggnog can be found at some Delaware markets shortly before Thanksgiving through New Year's Day.

Lewes Dairy has just released its popular, seasonal eggnog. The eggnog has been bottled between Thanksgiving and New Year's for more than 40 years.

The creamy, velvety drink is sold in quart and half-gallon containers.

The dairy was founded by Grace and Emory Brittingham in the 1920s. The business was temporarily put on hold in the 1940s while two of the couple's five sons served in World War II. When it reopened in 1946, it was called "Lewes Dairy."

There was a concern the 2011 sale of southern Delaware's last independent dairy to Hy-Point Dairy Farms in Wilmington would mark the end of the Sussex County regional eggnog.

But keeping the Lewes Dairy label on its famous eggnog was part of the sale agreement.

Lewes Dairy eggnog can be found in some local stores such as Lloyd's Market in Lewes, which heralded its release in a Thursday morning Facebook post.

Eggnog made by local producers, such as Lewes Dairy, can be found in grocery stores before Thanksgiving.

The eggnog can be found in New Castle County at Janssen's Market in Greenville.
