Lobster, beef tenderloin and more: Sussex County eateries offer riffs on grilled cheese

Cheese, please.

Grilled cheese sandwiches stuffed with everything from lobster to beef tenderloin will be offered now through Feb. 16 at all 10 restaurants owned by Sussex County-based SoDel Concepts.

This is the fourth year for the grilled cheese promotion, according to Doug Ruley, a chef and company vice president. Ruley said the sandwiches are always a big hit with customers.

“It’s easy to see why," he said. "There are few dishes packed with as much nostalgia and comfort as a grilled cheese sandwich.”

Riffs on the sandwich include a patty melt with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, Djionnaise and a sunny-side-up egg at Fish On in Lewes.

The new Bluecoast Seafood Grill + Raw Bar in Rehoboth Beach is serving a grilled cheese sandwich with beef tenderloin and roasted vegetables. A cheese sandwich with lobster, Serrano ham and mozzarella on focaccia bread is being offered at NorthEast Seafood Kitchen in Ocean View.

In February, SoDel Concepts highlights Girl Scout Cookies. Each restaurant will create a specialty dessert using a different cookie. Some proceeds from sales will go to local Girl Scout organizations.

SoDel Concepts restaurants include Fish On and Matt’s Fish Camp in Lewes; The Clubhouse at Baywood in Millsboro; Bluecoast Seafood Grill + Raw Bar and Lupo Italian Kitchen in Rehoboth; Matt’s Fish Camp and Bluecoast Seafood Grill + Raw Bar in Bethany Beach; NorthEast Seafood Kitchen in Ocean View; and Catch 54 and Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria in Fenwick Island.
