La Fable in Rehoboth Beach among 100 most romantic restaurants in the US

With Valentine's Day approaching, a Delaware restaurant has made OpenTable's list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America for 2019.

La Fable, a traditional French restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, is the only eatery in the state on the list released Wednesday, although several other restaurants are within driving distance of Delaware.

Reservations are still available for Valentine's Day at La Fable, at 26 Baltimore Ave., through OpenTable or by calling (302) 227-8510. The restaurant is open 5-11 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

OpenTable, which allows diners to book online restaurant reservations, used more than 12 million verified diner reviews of more than 28,000 restaurants in 50 states and Washington, D.C., to make its list. The reviews were collected from Dec. 1, 2017, to Nov. 30, 2018. 

Restaurants had to have a minimum overall score and number of qualifying reviews to be considered for the list. The overall score included such factors as overall diner rating, user klout, number of reviews and regional overall rating. Qualifying restaurants were then judged on the percentage of reviews that selected "romantic" as a special feature.

The 100 restaurants are located in 32 states — with Ohio leading the list with nine restaurants. In the region, Pennsylvania has six of the winning restaurants, and New Jersey has four — including two in Cape May.

"These 100 restaurants excel at setting the table for romance and creating intimate dining experiences at every service," said Caroline Potter, chief dining officer at OpenTable.
