The Food Bank of Delaware is hosting Beer & Benevolence on April 6 at Dogfish Head Brewing & Eats in Rehoboth Beach.

The free event will run from 5- 9 p.m., however guests will need to purchase their own beer and food. The Food Bank of Delaware will receive 10 percent of the pub sales for the evening. There will also be live music and an opportunity to bid on three raffle baskets.

"We’re looking forward to a great night with our friends from Dogfish Head,” said Food Bank of Delaware President and CEO Patricia Beebe. "We're also hoping to raise awareness regarding the critical issue of hunger in our community."

Proceeds from the evening will help fight hunger in Southern Delaware, where more than 43,000 food insecure Delawareans live.

In addition to emergency food services, the Food Bank of Delaware provides outreach and education through financial coaching, nutrition education, SNAP and more.

The organization also plays an important role in training adults for employment in Delaware’s food service industry. The Culinary School at the Food Bank of Delaware, with locations in Milford and Newark, provides 14 weeks of training to adults who are unemployed, underemployed, in career transition or transitioning out of the criminal justice system.
