Whether you are trying to fit in some fun with the kids before they return to school or simply looking for a good way to say goodbye to summer, check out this list that includes five fun favorites to do Labor Day weekend.

Bethany Beach Jazz Funeral

Attend Bethany Beach's 31st annual end-of-summer-celebration Monday, Sept. 5.

The event parodies similar jazz funerals made famous in New Orleans, characterized by their upbeat hymns and bouncing lace parasols.

Those who go will see a large gathering of mourners — some draped in black shrouds, some donning dark sunglasses, some dressed in full comedic costume, some carrying flowers — all sobbing as they shuffle along the Bethany Boardwalk.

The free, family-friendly event will begin with a private wake at 5 p.m. The official procession will start around 5:30 p.m.

For more information or to volunteer, call 302-537-1585, email jazzfuneral@comcast.net or visit jazz-funeral.com.

Wings and wheels expo

Private aircraft, custom cars and antique military vehicles will be on full display Labor Day weekend in Ocean City.

The annual expo will also feature a number of vendors offering food, drinks and a variety of crafts. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Huey Memorial.

The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, in the Ocean City Municipal Airport from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, free for children under 12 years old.

Rehoboth Beach Drag Volleyball Game

For the past 22 years, the Rehoboth Beach Drag Volleyball Game has drawn thousands of spectators to witness men in heels set and spike on the sand. Its popularity even drew national attention when "Today Show" hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb did a special report on the game in 2011.

The comical, yet competitive event begins Sunday, Sept. 4 at noon.

Game organizers encourage spectators to attend and enjoy, and to also post pictures and videos, but ask that none of the players be "tagged" on social media with their names.
