Evolution's Knorr named Brewers Association board VP

The Brewers Association of Maryland (BAM) announced the election of Tommy Knorr, Founder, Evolution Craft Brewing Company in Salisbury, to the board of directors as vice president at their quarterly meeting held at Key Brewing Co. in Dundalk, Maryland on June 15, 2016.

“We are excited that the Brewers Association of Maryland’s members have selected Tommy Knorr as our new vice president,” says Ben Savage of Flying Dog Brewery, President of BAM. “Tommy brings a unique perspective to our board leadership because of his vast experience in both breweries and restaurants. Additionally, since Tommy hails from Salisbury, he brings much needed geographical diversity to our association and will surely represent the interests and growth of craft beer on Maryland’s Eastern Shore,” Savage said.

Knorr opened Evolution along with his brother, John, in 2009. Their combined passion for food and beer lead to the development of the brewery as well as Southern Boys Concepts, a family of restaurants based on southern hospitality and high quality at a great value, of which Knorr is the president.

“I'm honored to be joining the BAM board," said Knorr. "We are in an exciting time in the beer business and I look forward to helping steer our association through the many complex facets of our industry to become one of the strongest groups throughout the country advocating for locally produced beer,” Knorr said.

Knorr will be replacing Gary Brooks of Barley and Hops Grille and Microbrewery, who resigned from the position after serving on the board for the last decade.

“The Brewers Association of Maryland wishes Gary Brooks well on his new adventure. His passion and presence as a leader and advocate for Maryland beer will be missed,” said Ben Savage. “Over the past few decades, Gary has done a great deal to promote, protect, and grow the Maryland beer industry, and his efforts and leadership are a big reason why the Brewers Association stands strong today at nearly 65 member breweries,” Savage said.
