The new location for Acorn Market in Salisbury.

A new restaurant is set to open Wednesday, June 22, in downtown Salisbury, but it's a familiar name to the city's lunch crowd.

"It's OFFICIAL see ya in the AM!!" the owners of Acorn Market posted to their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon. The post included a photo of two freshly issued certificates of occupancy for the new location's indoor and outdoor dining areas.

The restaurant and bakery is bound for Riverside Commons on West Market Street, the newly renovated building formerly home to Feldman's furniture store.

Acorn Market encompasses about three-quarters of the first-floor space. Angello's Unique Gifts, which had been on the Downtown Plaza, moved into the remaining space next to it back in early May.

Acorn built up a brisk lunch following for several years on East Main Street. But that location, tucked behind the Country House store, didn't have the benefit of any street signage and could be difficult to find.
