The Easter Seals will host a volleyball challenge on Feb. 24-26 to raise money for adults and children with disabilities.

A three-day event, the volleyball challenge will take place at William Penn High School near New Castle.

Journey Parson, who was born three years ago and has a rare brain disorder, and her parents will serve as the event's ambassador family. Born at 28 weeks, Journey suffered a seizure at 9 months old. She began receiving therapy services at 11 months old.

When she was 2, Easter Seals therapists incorporated a modified, ride-on car into her therapy sessions. Originally developed with Cole Galloway, an engineer from the University of Delaware, the "GoBabyGo!" cars are used in Easter seals therapy sessions.

"I broke down crying when I first saw the GoBabyGo! car," said Journey's mom, Patrice. "They thought of everything and modified it just for her. The fact that her brother had one, too, made it even better. It completely changed the dynamics of our kids. Every time she is on the same level as her brother, she comes alive."
