Crooked Hammock Brewery is a Lewes brewpub just off the Coastal Highway.

Crooked Hammock Brewery is rolling out some new offerings just in time for Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of beach season.

The Lewes brewpub will launch the seasonal Beach Escape White IPA during a "Steal the Pint Night" special release party starting at 4 p.m. Thursday.

The first customers who try the beer will get a take-home pint glass while supplies last.

Crooked Hammock also will begin selling take-home cans of one new brew and one fan favorite.

The seasonal Actively Fishing, a Czech pilsner, and the year-round Wai Ola, a California-style coconut ale whose name translates to "water of life," will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans, starting this week.

Owned by La Vida Hospitality Group, the brewpub off Kings Highway has offered growlers and crowlers of its five seasonal and five year-round brews on tap.

But this is the first time the establishment has ventured into cans since opening in October 2015.

"As we have grown, choosing the direction of our brews has been one of the fun aspects of the business," Head Brewer Chris Wood said. "For Crooked Hammock, offering unique and approachable beers that meet a high-quality standard continues to be our focus."

Memorial Day weekend will be particularly busy for La Vida, which also owns Fork and Flask at Nage and Big Chill Surf Cantina near Rehoboth Beach. That's when the company is hoping to open Big Chill Beach Club, a new restaurant and watering hole on top of the concession stand at Delaware Seashore State Park.

Even if that doesn't happen, visitors will still be able to grab a bite and some beer at Crooked Hammock, which includes a full-service restaurant and backyard beer garden.

The brewpub is open seven days a week, year-round from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m. with happy hours from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
