A late-night boating accident on the Delaware side of the Assawoman Bay injured one of three people on board, according to the Delaware Division of Fish & Wildlife.

The accident happened between 11:30 p.m. and midnight Thursday, July 20, when a medium-sized recreational vessel ran aground on a sandbar and then into a marsh, said the agency's Lt. John McDerby.

The exact location of the mishap was immediately unclear although McDerby said the boat was traveling from Maryland to Delaware and had reached the Delaware side of the bay.
