Erland Edward Roessler

Police say the masked man who walked into PNC Bank on West Isabella Street and presented a note demanding cash while implying he was armed is 52-year-old Erland Edward Roessler III of Salisbury.

Roessler was arrested without incident late Friday, July 28, at a residence authorities say he was using, and charged with armed robbery and related offenses, said the Salisbury Police Department on Saturday. He is jailed awaiting an appearance before a court commissioner.

Roessler is accused of entering the bank around 2 p.m. and fleeing on foot shortly afterward with an undisclosed amount of cash handed over by a bank employee.

No one was injured during the incident.
