Brace yourself! Serious cold snap for Delmarva all this week

Settle in for a frigid New Year's Weekend on Delmarva, with low temperatures in the teens all week and into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

For Salisbury, expect a low of 13 degrees Wednesday night, and sunny skies Thursday but a high of only 27. Going into the weekend, according to the weather service, there's a 20 percent chance of snow Friday with a high of only 34, then mostly cloudy Saturday and a high of 36 degrees.

Sunday and Monday, it will be sunny and even colder, per the weather service, with a high of 29 degrees and a low of 15 Sunday, and a high of 27 and low of 14 Monday.

In Ocean City, expect a low of 13 degrees Wednesday night, then a high of 27 degrees and low of 13 Thursday, according to the weather service. The cold snap continues though the weekend, with expected highs of 35  degrees Saturday and 28 Sunday, with lows of 19 and 17 degrees.

For Monday's big Penguin Swim, those brave enough to take the dip can expect mostly sunny skies, with a high of 30 degrees, per the weather service.

Expect similarly freezing conditions in Virginia and Delaware. On the Virginia Shore, the highest temperature for the week will be 38 degrees Saturday and lowest 18 degrees Sunday night, per the weather service. In Sussex County, the highest temperature for the rest of the week will be 34 degrees Saturday and the lowest 17 on Sunday night.
