Video shows alleged mass shooter's Wilmington attack

Screengrab of surveillance footage of Radee Prince

Radee Prince, the man accused of shooting a Wilmington business owner in the face hours after authorities said he killed three and injured two more at his former workplace in Harford County, Maryland, was found guilty of attempted manslaughter, resisting arrest, reckless endangering and weapons charges Tuesday.

Video of the shooting obtained by The News Journal was part of prosecutors' argument that Prince, 38, shot Rashan "Jason" Baul in a planned assassination attempt on Oct. 18 2017. The footage was captured by a security camera inside Baul's 28th Street Auto Sales business on Governor Printz Boulevard.

Baul can be seen walking into a small building and taking a potential business partner into a small, back office and closing the door. Minutes later, Prince enters the building, walking directly to the office and opening the door. Gunfire and a struggle begin seconds later.

After the initial clash, Prince can be seen leaving the room, adjusting his jammed gun before returning.

At times, Baul's feet appear out the door and Prince leans down appearing to aim a shot at him. At one point, Baul manages to close Prince out of the back room as the defendant bangs his shoulder against the door to get back in, periodically firing more rounds inside.

Baul described to the jury how he went to the ground, pressed a desk against the door and tried to keep Prince from the room with his feet.

"He just kept trying to shoot me and hit me with the gun," Baul said.

Baul was first shot in the face and that bullet remains lodged near his spine. He also has another bullet lodged near his pelvis and his head was cut from Prince whipping him with the black pistol.

Eventually, Prince can be heard saying "bleed out, bitch" and exits the building, his leg soaked with blood. "Indestructible" by Mary J. Blige can be heard playing in the office throughout the attack.

Prince admitted to the shooting but said he went to the office to talk to Baul, with whom he had a long-running feud. Prince told the jury that Baul motioned toward his pockets, leading him to fear for his life so he shot him.

Prosecutors noted there was very little time from when Prince opened the door to the office to when shots rang out. They noted he went to Wal-Mart to pick up bullets before driving to Baul's business.

The jury was not convinced that it was Prince's intent to kill, which prosecutors argued in asking the jury for first-degree attempted murder charges.

Instead, the jury opted to convict Prince of the lesser included offense of attempted manslaughter with extreme emotional duress, indicating they felt Prince was less culpable because he had reason to fear Baul/.

Prince is also accused of shooting five, three fatally, at his former workplace north of Baltimore in the hours before shooting Baul. On Monday, the jury was shown footage of that shooting as well.

In the short clip, a man police identified as Prince enters a workshop where about six people are working. He's followed by others and can be seen tapping others on the shoulder as he gathers them in a circle.

Then he can be seen pointing a black handgun and firing at the people gathered. Some scramble, others drop to the ground. Before the video ends, the man police identify as Prince can be seen walking up to one of the victims on the ground and shooting him in the head.

He will be tried on the Maryland charges later this year.
