Katie Jacoby, then a 17-year-old honors student, performed at the Baby Grand in Wilmington in 2007.

As a student at St. Mark's High School, Katie Jacoby performed The Who's "Baba O'Riley" to win the school's Battle of the Bands competition.

Now, 10 years later, the Delaware native is sharing the stage with the legendary group's front man, Roger Daltrey.

Jacoby, 28, is a violin soloist on tour with Daltrey and members of The Who as they perform the rock opera, "Tommy." The 12-date tour will make a stop in Philadelphia on Tuesday, June 19 at the Mann Center.

“O my gosh it’s been an absolute dream," Jacoby said. "I’ve been a giant Who fan for ages. To get to play the song with the man himself, is such an honor.”

At each performance, the band is joined by a different orchestra. In Philadelphia, the tour will perform with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Jacoby solos on "Baba O'Riley" at every show.

"It’s such an iconic piece of music," Jacoby said. "To have the orchestral music gives it a fresh take."

Jacoby attended the Independence School in Newark from kindergarten to eighth grade, before attending Saint Mark's. She trained at The School of Rock in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.

Earlier this year, Jacoby performed in a similar orchestral tour with Foreigner. She also founded a gypsy-jazz trio, a genre she describes as "very fierce and fiery."

In her career, she has also performed with notable artists and groups, like KISS' Peter Criss, Elle King, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and A Great Big World.

In addition to her performance work, Jacoby has served as a violin coach on Amazon's "Mozart in the Jungle."
