Your guide to the best Black Friday deals in Delaware this year

To get the best Black Friday deals before they sell out, you need to know what's actually going to be on sale ahead of time and which of your favorite retailers are having sales. 

The News Journal on Thanksgiving will feature Black Friday ads from more than 40 retailers, including local stores whose specials won't be leaked ahead of time.

Black Friday: What if you miss the doorbusters at Best Buy, Walmart and Kohls?

But some stores have already announced special deals. 

Here are some of the highlights to keep you stated until the full ads are published: 

Best Buy 

Best Buy is gearing up for some great Black Friday savings.

Stores will open at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving. Most stores will close at 1 a.m. and reopen 8 a.m. Black Friday.

Big Lots

Big Lots has several Thanksgiving-only deals, as well as deals on Friday and Saturday. They will be open 7 a.m. to midnight on Thursday, and reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

  • Save $120 and buy a Bayport Queen Mattress, with free matching box spring, for $279 
  • Buy sofas, loveseats, or chairs and a quarter for $289 each

Dell 

Doorbusters start at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and free shipping is available.

J.C. Penney 

J.C. Penney stores will open at 2 p.m. Thanksgiving this year.

The first customers on Thanksgiving will get coupons ranging from $10 off $10 to $500 off a $500 or more purchase, while supplies last. They open at 2 p.m. and will be open through Friday.

J.C. Penney sale starts Thanksgiving Day withchance to win $500 coupon

Kohl's

Kohl's will offer $15 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent on Black Friday

Shoppers will earn $15 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 they spend instead of the usual $10 Kohl's Cash. Stores will open 5 p.m. Thursday. 

  • Save $30 and get the Amazon Echo 2nd Generation for $69, plus earn $15 Kohl's Cash
  • Save $100 and get the Microsoft Xbox One S 1TB Minecraft Creators Bundle for $199.99, plus earn $60 Kohl’s Cash

Macy's

Doorbuster pricing is only through 1 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Stores will also be open 5 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving. They reopen at 6 a.m. Friday.

Petco

PetCo on Tuesday, November 13.

Get a free set of holiday antlers for your dog or cat on Black Friday. Stores are closed on Thanksgiving and open 8 a.m. Friday.

  • Buy one of several brands of treats and food and get one free.

Sears

Sears will still have plenty of great Black Friday sales, despite store closings.

Doorbusters will be available in store during open hours, as well as online all day on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Stores open 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving and are open all day Friday.

Stein Mart

Stein Mart is opening up a new location at Concord Square shopping center March 10.

Delaware's first Stein Mart opened at the Concord Square shopping center in March. Stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday.

Walmart

Walmart's starting early with Black Friday doorbusters on Nov. 8.

There are pre-Black Friday deals available on Thursday, Nov. 8 and select deals will be available online starting at 10 p.m. Nov. 21 on TVs, laptops, and more. Walmart opens at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day and is open all day Friday.
