FRIDAY UPDATE: Eastern Shore snow: Here's the latest forecast

The weekend could bring the first snow of 2019 to Delmarva.

As of Monday morning, The Weather Channel predicts a 70 percent chance of snow in Salisbury on Saturday, bringing up to 3 inches that night.

Sunday morning could also see rain and snow, with up to 3 inches in the afternoon. The Weather Channel predicts less snow Sunday night, but scattered flurries and showers are possible before midnight.

A layer of snow and ice coats the ground in Salisbury on Monday, Dec 10, 2018.

The Weather Channel so far has similar forecasts in Sussex County. Bethany Beach and Rehoboth Beach could see up to 3 inches of snow on Saturday night, with snowfall starting in the afternoon.

The Eastern Shore already saw snow this winter on Dec. 9.

But the flakes aren't guaranteed. The National Weather Service, which predicts a slight chance of a rain and snow this weekend, warns that forecast will "certainly change" multiple times.

"I certainly wouldn't be cancelling any plans," said Ryan Rogers, a meteorologist with NWS based in Wakefield, Virginia. "With these kind of time ranges, it's very much in flux."
