If you're planning to crack a couple of brewskis with the broskis on Super Bowl Sunday — or you're drinking straight Jack Daniels alone because your team got robbed — the Delaware Office of Highway Safety wants to make sure you get home alive.

So they're helping to get you a free lift home — or, at least, a discounted one.

Ridesharing company Lyft is partnering again with the Office of Highway Safety to offer rides valued at $15 or less between 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Monday.

State, county and police officials on Wednesday announced discount vouchers will be available for Lyft rides this weekend as part of an effort to keep drunk drivers off the road on Super Bowl weekend.

The SoberLift partnership will provide discounted Lyft vouchers for up to $15 to be used between those times. To get the voucher, just text "Soberlift" to 99000 for the discount code.

The discount is available only in New Castle County.

Delaware first established the SoberLift partnership over the summer, and officials who announced the Super Bowl weekend program said they believe it saved lives.

"SoberLift has become an important program to our mission," Christopher Klein, acting director of the Office of Highway Safety, said in a news release about the voucher program. "We are especially grateful to be able to offer heightened awareness and alternatives to driving under the influence during a time of increased risk on the roadways.”

There were 131 DUI arrests, 40 DUI crashes and 25 DUI injuries during Super Bowl weekend in Delaware between 2014 and 2018, according to the Office of Highway Safety.
