A 20-year-old from Laurel decked a 52-year-old from Maryland over prime Rehoboth Beach parking, police said.

Police say Nakala Spencer, 20, hit another woman over a parking space in Rehoboth Beach.

Rehoboth Beach Police arrested Nakala Spencer Saturday after someone tried to pull into the parking space in the median of the first block of Rehoboth Avenue where Spencer apparently was standing like a human traffic cone.

The woman is 52 and when she tried to pull in around 6:30 p.m., Spencer refused to move even though Rehoboth Beach city ordinance forbids reserving spaces by standing in them.

So Spencer struck her in the face, police said, and threw the older woman's phone on the ground.

Spencer had fled the scene before officers arrived, police said, but they were able to find her and take her into custody. She was charged with offensive touching and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.

She was released on a $1,000 unsecured bail.
