A 22-year-old Bridgeville man was sentenced to five years after posting a Snapchat video with several guns including an AK-47, the state Department of Justice announced Friday.

Elijah Desir shared a video of himself in October holding what appeared to be an AK-47-style assault rifle amidst several other guns, Nicole Magnusson of the state DOJ said.

Desir had a prior conviction on first-degree reckless endangerment. The 2016 conviction prevents Desir from possessing a gun.

The News Journal archives show Desir had been arrested after firing shots at a 16-year-old's birthday party that hospitalized six people.

Desir pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and was sentenced immediately March 7, Magnusson said.

A year of probation follows his prison sentence.
