New Castle County Police on Sunday evening said the victims of the Belvedere double homicide they began investigating early in the morning are 15-year-old Doris Dorsey and 35-year-old Vincent DiMenco.

Police said the teen is the daughter of a homeowner on Lloyd Street, where Dorsey's body was found in a car. DiMenco, found dead nearby, is the homeowner's friend.

Police first responded to the killings around 1:30 a.m. Both were later pronounced dead by New Castle County Paramedics, police said.

Patrol cars sectioned off part of Newport Gap Pike to close the crime scene. They reopened the area around 3 p.m.

Many in the area woke up Sunday to detectives knocking on their doors seeking information, such as one living on Lloyd Street who was in the middle of breakfast.

“It’s very surprising. Normally it’s pretty quiet here,” said a resident who didn't give her name.

Police said no suspect information is available at this time.
