Driver high on PCP has been charged with 5th DUI, New Castle police say

A New Castle man who was driving high on PCP was charged with his fifth DUI on Thursday, New Castle police said. 

Police pulled over a pickup truck going into oncoming traffic on Frenchtown Road near the Amazon distribution center, New Castle police Chief Richard McCabe said. 

The truck, traveling westbound, veered into eastbound traffic near Quigley Road. Officers stopped the truck before reaching Du Pont Highway, McCabe said in a press release. 

Charles King of New Castle, 29, was charged with fifth-offense DUI.

The driver, 29-year-old Charles King from New Castle, was charged with a fifth-offense DUI and other traffic-related offenses.

He was released on a $6,500 unsecured bond.
